Ashraf hails contribution of Osman family to AL

Citing the contributions of Narayanganj’s Osman family in the Awami League’s political history, Syed Ashraful Islam said his party will always be by their side.
He said, “Osman family is a part of Awami League. We can’t erase the Osman family and Khan Shaheb Osman from Awami League’s history.”
The ruling party general secretary was speaking at a rally Friday organised at Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan to mark the party’s 65th founding anniversary, according to a news agency.
His remarks came a day after Jatiya Party's businessman-turned-politician Selim Osman won the Narayanganj-5 by-polls. Selim defeated his nearest rival Independent candidate SM Akram by 16,000 votes.
Dwelling on the by-polls, LGRD Minister Syed Ashraf took a dig at some national dailies accusing them of being biased.
