Ashraful, Tasamul hit centuries for Kalabagan’s win against Agrani

Former national side captain Mohammad Ashraful hit unbeaten 102* while opener Tasamul Haque hammered 106 for Kalabagan Krira Chakra's five wickets victory against Agrani Bank Cricket Club in the 12-team Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan Ground 3 in Savar on Sunday, reports UNB.
This is Ashraful's 2nd century in the league as he earlier fired another one against Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club in the 3rd round scoring 104 off 131 balls, including 11 boundaries at BKSP Ground 4 on February 13.
In the day's match, both centurions shared a partnership of 188 off 36.2 overs in the 2nd wicket as Kalabagan chased down a target of 253 runs, scoring 256 for 5 in 48.4 overs, with a six in the last ball of the match by Taibur Rahman.
Man of the match Ashraful featured 10 boundaries in an innings of 136-ball while Tasamul fired 12 boundaries off 115-ball before being caught by Al-Amin Hossain off Shafiul Islam. Ashraful-Tasamul started their partnership from 21/1 in 4.4 overs and ended on 209/2 in 41 overs.
Taibur Rahman (15* off 5b) and Jashimuddin (10 off 13b; 2x4) were other double digit scorers for the winners.
Al-Amin Hossain (2/27) and Shafiul Islam (2/47) equally shared four wickets while Raza Ali Dar (1/68) took another wicket for the bankers' team.
Sent in to bat first, Agrani Bank scored 252 for 9 in 50 overs riding on the opening stand of 128 off 25.2 overs between Shahriar Nafees and Azmir Ahmed.
Shahriar Nafees (99 off 125b; 14x4; 1x6) fell short of one run for a century as he was stumped by keeper Jashimuddin off Mahmudul Hasan on 197/4 in 40.5 overs while opener Azmir Ahmed (58 off 66b; 5x4; 3x6) hit a half century before being caught by Sanjit Saha off Akbar-ur-Rehman to split from the opening pair.
Jahid Javed (20), Saymon Ahmed (15), Raza Ali Dar (15) and Mohammad Ishak (10*) were the other double digit scorers for Agrani Bank.
Akbar-ur-Rehman got three wickets for 24 runs while Mahmudul Hasan (2/56) and Muktar Ali (2/43) equally shared four wickets. Ashraful (1/23) and Nahid Hasan (1/39) took one wicket each for the winners.
With the day's results, Kalabagan aggregated four points from seven outings and moved up to 10th spot from bottom 12th, securing two wins against five losses, by virtue of better run rate while Agrani Bank remained on the previous 11th place with same points and win-loss record.
