Asian markets rebound

Wednesday, 2 September 2009

HONG KONG, Sept 1 (AFP): Investors picked up bargains Tuesday, lifting Asian shares a day after heavy selling was triggered by fears of tighter liquidity in the Chinese economy that could stymie regional recovery.
China lifted 0.60 per cent after Monday's plummet, which had also sent other regional markets lower.
Hong Kong added 0.75 per cent, Tokyo 0.36 per cent and Sydney 0.79 per cent, while Taipei was 2.84 per cent better off.
However, dealers will be looking ahead to key US data including a factory sector survey.
