Asian shares post gains for 3rd day

HONG KONG, Dec 2 (AFP): Asian markets rose for a third straight day Wednesday as investors picked up bargains after last week's sell off, with fears waning over Dubai's debt shock.
MUMBAI: Down 0.16 per cent. The 30-share Sensex index closed down 28.36 points at 17,169.91.
TOKYO: Up 0.38 per cent. The Nikkei-225 gained 36.74 points to 9,608.94.
HONG KONG: Up 0.80 per cent. The Hang Seng Index gained 176.42 points to 22,289.57.
Resource firms were boosted by gold's gains.
SHANGHAI: Up 1.06 per cent. The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 34.39 points at 3,269.75.
SEOUL: Up 1.40 per cent. The KOSPI ended up 21.91 points at 1,591.63.
Hynix Semiconductor soared 6.4 per cent to 19,200 won and Samsung Electronics gained 1.4 per cent to 747,000 won. LG Electronics rose 2.5 per cent to 104,000 won.
TAIPEI: Up 0.37 per cent. The weighted index rose 28.39 points to 7,677.62.
SINGAPORE: Up 0.92 per cent. The Straits Times Index advanced 25.39 points to 2,796.34.
CapitaLand added three cents to 4.09, City Developments was 22 cents up at 10.40 and Keppel Land fell four cents to 3.23.
BANGKOK: Down 2.32 per cent. The Stock Exchange of Thailand lost 16.50 points to 693.51.
KUALA LUMPUR: Up 0.35 per cent. The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index rose 4.44 points to 1,271.15.
JAKARTA: Up 0.78 per cent. The Jakarta Composite Index gained 19.06 points to 2,471.56.
