Aslam named new chairman of IDRA

Former Senior Secretary Dr. Aslam Alam has been appointed fifth Chairman of the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA).
He previously served as a senior secretary in the Financial Institutions Division.
Aslam has been appointed on a contractual basis for a three-year term or until he reaches the age of 68.
He replaces Mohammad Jainul Bari, who resigned from the position. Mr. Bari also held the position of former secretary.
The first chairman of IDRA was M. Shefaque Ahmed, who served two consecutive terms.
