Assailants kill UP chairman in Narail

A union council chairman has been murdered in broad daylight in Narail, reports bdnews24.com.
The incident was reported on Thursday from the south-western district's Lohagora Upazila.
Unidentified assailants attacked Dighalia Union Parishad Chairman Sheikh Latifur Rahman around 12pm near the election office in Lohagara town, said police.
The attackers shot him before hacking with sharp weapons and fled the scene, said Inspector Monirul Islam.
Investigations are on to track the perpetrators to find the motive behind the murder, he said.
The body has been taken to state-run hospital in Narail district town for autopsy.
