Officials and workers of Jessore Education Board (JEB) on Tuesday staged a work abstention protesting the alleged assault on one of their fellows by criminals. The board employees ceased work around 9am and gathered on the board premises where they staged demonstrations until 1pm demanding the arrest of those who attacked section officer of the common service department Abul Kalam Azad. They also held a rally at noon from where they threatened to cripple the board unless the board authorities and the administration take action against the attackers. After failing to get the work order of a tender, a group of 8-10 youths assaulted Azad at his office on Monday morning, according to a news agency.
