Assures training for developing skills

Pacific Commander of the US Air Force General Gary L North called on President M Zillur Rahman at Bangabhaban Monday, reports UNB.
During the meeting, General North lauded Bangladesh for securing presently the highest position in sending troops to the UN Peacekeeping Mission.
He emphasised the need for extending proper training facilities for developing the professional skills of members of Bangladesh's armed forces, especially those who are involved in the UN Peacekeeping Mission.
General North said cooperation would be further strengthened in this regard between Bangladesh and the United States.
Zillur Rahman appreciated the general for visiting Bangladesh and also assuring the cooperation in increasing the skill of the Bangladesh armed forces.
US ambassador to Bangladesh James F Moriarty, Secretary to the President's Office M Shafiul Alam, Military Secretary to the President Major General Abul Kalam M Humayun Kabir and President's Press Secretary AKM Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan were also present at the meeting.
