Awami Legaue (AL) Advisory Council Member Suranjit Sengupta MP has called for strengthening the grand alliance on the basis of common principles and ideology. The AL advisory council member said this at a discussion organised by the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) at the Mohanagar Natyamancho in the city Tuesday marking the 39th founding anniversary of the JSD, reports BSS. Chaired by JSD President Hasanul Haque Inu, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Workers' Party of Bangladesh (WPB) President Rashed Khan Menon MP, JSD leaders -- Sharif Nurul Ambia, Mainuddin Khan Badal MP and Advocate Shaha Jikrul Ahmed MP, Hazi Abdus Samad of Gano Azadi League, Nurur Rahman Selim of Ganotantrik Party and Jakir Hossain of Ganotantrik Majdur Party. "Not only Awami League but also other components of the grand alliance have the same responsibility to make the unity stand on firm footing," the AL leader said. WPB chief alleged that Khaleda Zia was trying to establish the fundamentalist and militant forces in the country's politics. "We have to resist those anti-state forces collectively," he observed. JSD president Inu said, "A deep-rooted conspiracy is still continuing to re-instate the militant outfits and communal forces in the country." "The grand alliance government must not fail in resisting the religious fanatics and other communal forces including the Jama'at-e-Islami," he said.
