Attack on VC Pran Gopal Dutt

We were shocked to read that a group of pro-Awami League doctors from Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad (SCP) and Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) allegedly assaulted Dr. Pran Gopal Dutt, the vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), as they were not selected for the posts of medical officer.
We note a dangerous tendency among some sections, who claim to belong to the ruling party, to swoop on responsible people who do not cater to their petty and unjust interests. Even an eminent medical professional like Dr. Pran Gopal Dutt has not been spared. We condemn the attack and demand that those responsible for the heinous act be brought to justice.
