Saturday, 8 February 2014

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the government is determined to bring to book those who attacked the houses and temples of the members of minority communities during the national election. She expressed the resolve while delivering a speech on Saturday at Sarda Police Academy in Rajshahi after taking salute at the training completion parade of the trainee assistant superintendents of police of the 31st BCS. Sheikh Hasina said the government wanted to contain militancy and terrorism with iron hand. She mentioned that 15 police personnel were killed in the last one year and 3,000 others were injured due to the violence. About the trial of those accused of committing crimes against humanity during Liberation War in 1971 and the condemned convicts, she said the implementation of the verdict on charge of war crimes has begun. The Prime Minister said: “The movement to stop the January 5 election by BNP and their local and foreign masters, lobbyists, other beneficiaries and vested professional intellectuals failed as people took part in the election willingly.” She said the people upheld the democracy and constitution, according to UNB.
