Attract foreign investments, Raushan asks govt

Leader of the Opposition Raushan Ershad has urged the government to take steps to attract more foreign investments and create employment in the country. ‘Now, Bangladesh needs employment and investment. The scope of employment must be created keeping pace with globalisation,’ she told the Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament) in her concluding speech of the 4th session on Sunday. The oposition leader said a huge employment should be created at district, Upazila and union levels with a view to reducing influx of people to Dhaka city. ‘The capital must be saved. If Dhaka is saved, the country will be save.,’ Demanding the construction of the deep sea port, Raushan said if the deep sea port is built, a huge employment will be created. She demanded stopping illegal drug peddling, food adulteration and illegal migration of Bangladeshis. Calling upon the government to attach importance to JS, Raushan said ‘The discussions held in the House will have to be implemented giving importance.’ She demanded expedition of construction work on the Padma Bridge, saying that bridge will be marked as a milestone of development in the history, according to a news agency.
