Australia Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ABCCI) has greeted the Interim government headed by Nobel Laureate Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus, reports BSS.
"On behalf of the ABCCI, We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the newly-formed interim government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. We are optimistic that under your leadership, the new government will play a pivotal role in restoring law and order, creating a favorable environment for smooth business operations, fostering stability, and ushering in a new era of prosperity for our nation," said ABCCI President Syed Moazzam Hossain.
Through a press release on Thursday, Moazzam Hossain said ABCCI also sincerely express its deepest condolences to the martyrs of the historic mass uprising of August 5, 2024.
"We honour their sacrifice and pray for their departed souls to rest in peace. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families of those who lost their lives, and extend our wishes for a quick recovery to all the injured," he added.
He said the current transition period has caused significant disruptions to numerous industrial productions and service organisations-including export-import trade, domestic trade, and e-commerce, which has severely hindered the ability to meet economic targets.
"Considering this critical situation, we urgently call on the new government to take immediate steps to reactivate all commercial activities in the country," Mr Moazzam continued.
"It is imperative to provide adequate security to industrial establishments to prevent further irreparable damage to our business, trade, and commerce. We also call upon every individual to act responsibly during these challenging times," he added.
He believed that through everybody's responsible efforts, Bangladesh can overcome the current challenges and work towards a stable and prosperous future for its nation.
