Australia’s national cricket team will arrive in Dhaka on Monday (September 28). The Aussies will play a two-Test series against Bangladesh. After arriving in the city, the visitors will have their practice from September 29 to October 2 at the National Cricket Academy Ground at Mirpur. The Aussies then play against Bangladesh Cricket Board XI in a three-day warm-up game staring on October 3 at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah in Narayanganj.
The first Test will be held on October 9-13 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. The second and final Test is slated for October 17-21 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur in Dhaka.
Australia’s only Test tour of Bangladesh previously was in 2006 when they played two Tests in Fatullah and Chittagong. They also played a three-match ODI series in 2011. Bangladesh toured Australia twice too, in 2003 to play two Tests and three ODIs, and in 2008 for three ODIs, according to a news agency.
