Australia provides funds on Universal Children's Day

Universal Children's Day will be observed worldwide today (Thursday) to reflect that children are one of the most important parts of society, reports UNB.
Australian High Commi-ssion in Dhaka announced that it was funding a Community Centre cum Pre-School in Tamaltala slum at Jamalpur Sadar under its Direct Aid Programme 2008-09. The project will be implemented through Symbiosis Bangladesh, a local NGO.
Australia's High Commissioner to Bangladesh Douglas Fosket will hand over a cheque for Tk 700,000 to Symbiosis' Country representative Abdul Muttalib Akand early next week.
