Australia reach final eliminating Windies

Defending champions Australia Women's team confirmed their final berth of the ICC Women's World Twenty20 eliminating West Indies Women's team in the first semifinal by 8 runs at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB.
Australia will play the final Sunday against the winner of 2nd semifinal between England and South Africa to be held today (Friday).
Replying to Australia's 140 runs, West Indies were 132 for 4 in 20 overs.
West Indies started the innings smoothly as their openers Kycia Knight (21) and Stafanie Taylor (24) scored 43 runs in 7.1 overs in the opening stand.
In the 3rd wicket stand, one down Deandra Dottin pairing with Stacy-Ann King contributed 73 runs in 8.4 overs before Dottin was caught by Erin Osborne off a Sarah Coyte delivery.
Deandra Dottin made 40 runs off 35 balls with four boundaries and an over boundary. Stacy-Ann King scored an unbeaten 36 runs facing 28 balls also featured four fours and a six.
Erin Osborne took one wicket conceding 18 runs in her four overs spell and was adjudged player of the match.
Rene Farrell and Sarah Coyte also took one wicket each for 25 and 28 runs respectively.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss Australia posted a fighting score of 140 for 5 in stipulated 20 overs.
In the opening stand, Elyse Villani pairing with Jess Jonassen (5) made 32 runs in 5.5 overs, before Jonassen fell victim of run out by Shakera Selman off a Merissa Aguilleira delivery.
Elyse Villani scored 35 runs off 32 balls featuring seven boundaries and was caught by Kycia A Knight off an Anisa Mohammed bowling.
In the 6th wicket stand, Alyssa Healy partnering with middle order Alex Blackwell contributed an unconquered 48 runs in 4.4 overs to end the innings at 140 for 5 in 20 overs.
Alyssa Healy scored unbeaten 30 runs off 21 balls featuring four boundaries.
Skipper Meg Lanning added 29 runs facing 22 balls with five boundaries while Alex Blackwell made an unbeaten 13 runs facing 17 balls.
Anisa Mohammed claimed two wickets for 24 runs in her four overs spell while Stafanie Taylor and Tremayne Smartt took one wicket each conceding 19 and 28 runs respectively.
