Australia\\\'s Bangladesh tour itinerary

Monday, 3 August 2015

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the itinerary of the Australian team’s Bangladesh tour. The Aussies will arrive in Dhaka on September 28 to play a two-match Test series. It will be the third Test series between the teams and the first in nine years. Australia, who are ranked second in Test cricket, will play a three-day warm-up match against the BCB XI in Fatullah from October 3. The first Test will start in Chittagong on October 9, while Dhaka will host the second from October 17. Bangladesh and Australia had their last Test series in 2006 in Bangladesh. It was also a two-Test series in which the hosts lost both the matches. The Tigers have risen in ODI ranking but still have much to prove in the most prestigious form of the game. They beat Pakistan, India and South Africa to win three successive ODI series after reaching the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time earlier this year. Bangladesh managed a draw against India in a rain-marred one-off Test. They are also on the verge of drawing a two-Test series against South Africa, the top-ranked Test team, after rain washed away much of the two matches, according to bdnews24.com.
