Austrian envoy calls on Mirza Fakhrul

Austrian Ambassador to Bangladesh, stationed in New Delhi, Dr Katharina Wieser, on Saturday called on Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at the party chairperson's political office at Gulshan in the capital.
Member of the BNP media cell Sairul Kabir Khan told the media that the envoy came at around 12:30 pm at the party's Gulshan office.
He said that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Katharina Wieser during the meeting discussed bilateral issues and means and ways to enhance cooperation on importance sectors between Dhaka and Vienna.
Honorary Consul of Austria to Bangladesh and also BNP chairperson's Foreign Advisory Committee member Tasvir Ul Islam was present at that time.
Meanwhile, president of a faction of the BNP in New York, Habibur Rahman Selim, on Saturday paid homage to party founder and former president Ziaur Rahman visiting his grave at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.
Habibur Rahman along with other party leaders and activists placed a wreath at the grave and offered fateha there. BNP chairperson's adviser Abdus Salam and others were present.
