Authentic info by listed cos key to take proper investment decisions

Technical analysis is very important for investors to take proper investment related decisions based on information disseminated by listed companies.
Dr. Shaikh Shamsuddin Ahmed, a commissioner of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commissioner (BSEC), on Sunday said this at a workshop on Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF).
"Investors will not be able to be informed of a listed company unless it disseminates authentic information on website," said the BSEC commissioner Mr. Ahmed.
As the chief guest of the workshop, the BSEC commissioner Mr. Ahmed said sometimes investors are unable to take proper decision due to insufficient information disseminated on the companies' websites.
"The securities regulator is trying to increase the flow of information by the listed companies," said the BSEC commissioner.
He said investors should purchase securities taking into account proper time without being confused by rumours.
"Profits do not come from sales only. That's why the listed securities will have to be purchased in proper time," Mr. Ahmed said.
He said there are two parties in this market. "Traders are one party who come and leave the market. Investors are another party and efforts have been continued to increase the number of investors."
Capital Market Journalists' Forum (CMJF) organised the workshop on the ETF.
