'Authorised representatives should work with honesty, integrity'

SEC Member Muhammad Yasin Ali said honesty and integrity are the most important things of the capital market and if any complaint of fraudulent is found against any authorised representative, serious actions will be taken against them including cancellation of license.
He said this while inaugurating a two-day training programme at CSE Dhaka office for the authorised representatives (AR) of CSE member companies, said a press release.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) Limited in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) organised the course.
The training is a prerequisite for obtaining registration certificate of authorised representatives from the SEC.
Mr Ali praised CSE for organising such programme and expressed his hope that CSE would continue its effort in producing high quality ARs in the country.
He discussed briefly the prospects of Bangladesh capital market and said that potential of this market is very high.
CSE President Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed requested the participants to thoroughly go through the rules and regulations in order to be highly efficient ARs.
Mr Ahmed also requested them to participate with CSE to market CSE's distinct feature Internet Trading Service (ITS).
The Chief Executive Officer of CSE Dr MA Mamun in his welcome speech said the scenario of the capital market of our country has changed and a huge number of investors are coining in the market.
The capital formation through capital market has been increasing and the people are encouraged to come with their capital to multiply them through stock exchange.
So its is the responsibility of the stakeholders specially the SEC and the stock exchanges to encourage young peoples to build their career with capital market so that market runs efficiently.
He added that if we cannot understand the rules and regulations sitting at the front desk of member companies, we can't serve the investors significantly.
He appreciated SEC for their historical decision to establish the capital market institute.
He expressed the hope that the institute would be playing leading role in producing many market specialists in the country.
A total of 60 authorised representatives of CSE member companies are participating in this programme.
