Auto-rickshaw driver dies in city crash

An auto-rickshaw driver died as a truck collided with his vehicle in Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar early Wednesday. Three passengers of the auto-rickshaw were also injured in the accident. Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. He was around 40. The injured were Shah Imdadul Haque, 50, his wife Hosney Ara, 42, and their daughter Nowsin Jahan, 22. They were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, the hospital’s police outpost constable Md Alim said. Nowsin’s condition is stated to be critical. Quoting relatives, constable Alim said the couple and their daughter were on their way back home from a wedding. The auto-rickshaw lost control and hit a parked truck a few minutes past 12 midnight. The auto-rickshaw driver died on the spot, according to bdnews24.com.
