NATORE, Nov 29 (UNB/BSS): A auto-rickshaw driver was found dead in a paddy field at Haibatpur in Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ajgar Ali,50, a resident of the village.
Police said Ajgar along with his auto-rickshaw went out of the house on Friday afternoon but he had not returned since then.
Miscreants might have killed Ajgar to death and took away his auto- rickshaw, said police. A case was filed in this connection.
Meanwhile, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was critically injured by muggers and they snatched the auto-rickshaw at East Jurain in the capital early hours Saturday.
The driver was identified as Abdur Razzak Molla, 35, son of Aziz Molla, living at Malibagh in the city.
Two miscreants in disguise of passengers rented the CNG from Mouchak point to Postogola and they forced the driver to stop the auto-rickshaw while it was crossing the Jurain railgate area at 3.30 am today. When the auto rickshaw reached at East Jurain, the miscreants indiscriminately stabbed the driver and snatched the CNG from the spot.
