Auto-rickshaw driver stabbed dead in Ctg

Muggers stabbed to death the driver of an auto-rickshaw at Chowdhurypara in Halishahar in Chittagong city early Saturday. The deceased was identified as Khokon, 22, a resident of Abbaspara under the police station. Witnesses said a gang of muggers intercepted the battery-run auto-rickshaw of Khokon at Chowdhurypara around 5:00am and tried to snatch it. At one stage, the muggers stabbed Khokon indiscriminately as he tried to resist them, leaving him critically injured. Hearing Khokon’s scream, locals caught two gangsters – Mitu and Sagor – after a hot chase and gave them a good beating. Later, Khokon died on way to a local hospital. Locals handed over the two muggers to police, according to UNB.
