FE Report
The drivers of CNG-run autorickshaws Saturday staged demonstration in the city protesting price hike of compressed natural gas (CNG). With different types of slogan, the drivers peacefully marched from Motijheel to National Press Club. Officer-in-charge of Motijheel police station Tofazzal Hossain said the CNG drivers gathered in front of Bangladesh Bank and then marched down the road. The fare of CNG three- wheeler did not increase in line with CNG price hike which caused embarrassing arguments between drivers and passengers, the demonstrators told reporters. They urged the government to raise the fare of CNG-run autorickshaws proportionately.
