Aviana to start int'l cargo flights next week

Naim-Ul-KarimbrThe Aviana Airways Ltd, a local private airlines, will start operating international cargo flights from next week, a senior company official said on Tuesday. br We will operate our first cargo flight to Bangkok via Kunming from next week, Manager of the Aviana Airways Flight Lieutenant (retd) M Mazharul Islam told the FE on Tuesday. brHe said Aviana will operate three flights every week on this route from Dhaka.brWe have chosen the cities of China and Thailand as our international destinations for operating cargo flights because trade among Bangladesh and these two South East Asian countries are growing, he added.brA cargo operation expert said the Air Aviana's flight to Dhaka -Kungming is expected to be viable as there are no other airline operating cargo flight on the route. brOur target is to woo local exporters. There is a huge demand of Bangladeshi vegetables and frozen fish items like crabs and eel fish in China, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam, Mr. Islam said.
