Aviato from IBA, DU conquered BizAcumen\'16

The grand finale of BizAcumen'16 was held on 3rd September 2016 in Bangabandhu Conference Hall, World Trade Centre, Chittagong. BizAcumen'16 is an inter-university business case solving competition organised by Society for Leadership Proliferation (SLP) which is the student organisation of Department of Marketing, University of Chittagong. Team Aviato from IBA of University of Dhaka, The B-Team from North South University, Tie Breakers from University of Dhaka and two teams named Decision Pending and Insurrection from University of Chittagong were in the battle field of the grand finale. After a fierce battle Team Aviato from IBA, DU became the champion and Team Insurrection from Chittagong University became the runner up.
The final case was about 'Jabong', a fashion and lifestyle e-commerce portal. Jabong was facing difficulty in balancing the demand of customers and suppliers. Jabong recently had trouble with its key sales contributor, Puma. Participants were asked about the key problem of the case and effectiveness of the strategy they selected from the alternatives.
80 teams from all over the country contested for the title. In all of the four rounds participants solved real time business cases in a very short period of time. All the speakers encouraged the students to have the motive of being an entrepreneur rather than a job seeker. Crests and prize money were handed over to the champion and runner up teams by Professor A J M Nuruddin Chowdhury and Professor Sagib Kumar Ghosh respectively.
