Awareness workshop on BSTI activities at B'baria

BRAHMANBARIA, Aug 9: The SME Cell of Ministry of Industries and National Association of Small and Cottage Industries of Bangladesh (NASCIB) jointly organised an workshop on the activities and services of Bangladesh Standard and Testing institute (BSTI) at Brahmanbaria Zila Parishad auditorium recently, sources said.
NASCIB President and SME Foundation Director Mirza Nurul Gani Shovon was present on the occasion as the chief guest. Abdus Sattar, president of NASCIB Brahmanbaria unit, presided over the programme.
Owners and mangers of various business concerns and organisations participated in the workshop.
The chief guest, in his speech, narrated the government's policies on promotion of SMEs and industrialisation.
He also appreciated the efforts of the NASCIB for arranging the workshop that aimed at giving the local entrepreneurs a comprehensive idea about the BSTI's activities and services in determining the standard and quality of the products.
NASCIB Brahmanbaria Vice President Hazi Md Jashim Uddin Khan and BSTI Programme Officer Golam Baki also spoke on the occasion.
Brahmanbaria Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) President Md Farid Uddin and BSCIC Brahmanbaria Assistant General Manager (AGM) Md Faroque were also present as the special guests.
