Axle load control policy effective from Nov 1 on all roads, highways

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said Tuesday the axle load control policy would be effective from November 1 to control plying of overloaded vehicles on the roads and highways. The minister said this while visiting the Axle Load Control Station and road safety campaign of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) at the Meghna Bridge Toll Plaza. "We have separated toll booths for reducing traffic congestion on the bridge, of which four booths are dedicated for passenger vehicles while four others for goods-carrying vehicles," he said. — BSS
