Thursday, 7 October 2010

Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad said real history of the liberation war and independence struggle of the country should be projected to the children to let them know the true history, reports BSS.
"We should work from our respective positions to build a bright future for children," he said this at a prize-giving ceremony in the city Wednesday. The minister inaugurated a gallery named 'Sundarban' at the National Museum.
Director General of the National Museum Prokash Chandra Das and former pro vice-chancellor of Dhaka University Dr Md Shahadat Ali addressed the function with president of National Museum Projatna Board M Azizur Rahman in the chair.
Azad said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman used to love the children, besides taking up various steps to groom them as worthy citizens of the country.
He said the government is working under the bold leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build a 'Sonar Bangla' as dreamt by Bangabandhu.
Lauding the initiative of setting up the gallery named 'Sundarban' at the museum, the minister said the gallery will play an important role in creating awareness among the people to preserve the Sundarbans.
Azad said bio-diversity and the scenic beauty of the Sundarbans have been projected with animation through the gallery.
The gallery, he said, will also meet the expectations of those who would not be able to visit the Sundarbans.
