Azad for projecting country's positive image abroad

Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad Tuesday called upon all to work unitedly to project the country's positive image abroad through culture, reports BSS.
He was addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the internal training programmes of the Cultural Affairs Ministry.
With Secretary of the ministry Suraiya Begum in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by State Minister for Cultural Affairs Promod Mankin, outgoing Secretary of the Cultural Affairs Ministry and newly appointed Information Secretary Hedayet Ullah Al Mamun and Director General of Shilpakala Academy Kamal Lohani.
During the tenure of the present government, Azad said, the cultural affairs ministry wants to complete three important tasks.
The tasks are observance of the 150th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore under Bangladesh-India joint initiative, raising a cultural ring centring the city's Ramna area and utilisation of the one billion (100 crore) taka special fund of the ministry through framing a special work plan.
