Azad opens Ahsan Manzil Museum gallery

Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad has called for expanding the country's tourism industry through preservation of historic relics.
He made the call while inaugurating the renovated gallery of Ahsan Manzil Museum in the city Sunday, reports BSS.
The minister said many historic events took place centring the Ahsan Manzil. "It bears importance of different events that occurred since 1720", he added.
Presided over by Bangladesh National Museum Governing Board Chairman M Azizur Rahman, the function was addressed, among others, by State Minister for Cultural Affairs Promad Mankin, Cultural Affairs Secretary Suraiya Begum and Bangladesh National Museum Director General Prokash Chandra Das.
