Azhar brought to tribunal

Jamaat-e-Islami leader ATM Azharul Islam has been brought to the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 ahead of the imminent verdict on his war crimes trial. The microbus carrying him reached the ICT in Old High Court from the Dhaka Central Jail around 9am. After reaching the tribunal building Azhar was kept in the court’s lock up, said Ramna Zone Police Assistant Commissioner SM Imanul (patrol). Azhar was brought to Dhaka from Gazipur’s Kashimpur Jail on Monday afternoon for the verdict hearing. The ICT-1, headed by Justice Enayetur Rahim, is expected to deliver the verdict around 11am, according to a news agency.
