Babar sent to jail after remand in Kibria killing case

HABIGANJ, Mar 20 (UNB): Former state minister for Home Lutfozzaman Babar was sent to jail Saturday after a five-day remand in Awami League (AL) leader SAMS Kibria killing case.
Judge Shahidul Amin of the Judicial Magistrate court passed the order as Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police produced their former boss before the court at about 11.00am after his remand.
Senior Judicial Magi-strate M Shamsul Islam placed Lufozzaman Babar on remand upon a petition submitted by Rafiqul Islam, senior ASP of the CID and investigation officer of the case, on March 14.
Earlier, on February 11, the BNP leader was taken on a six-day remand for interrogation in the sensational case.
Babar was shown arrested in the case on February 2 as he had admitted his involvement in the Kibria killing plot during interrogation in the 21 August grenade attack case in the capital.
