Babugonj erosion victims get relief

BARISAL, Oct 5 (BSS): District administration and the members of army distributed a total of Taka 2.20 million among the erosion victims of Babugonj in the district today.
Official source said each of the erosion-hit families received Taka 10 thousand as house-building grant.
The grant money was distributed at a function organised on the premises of Rahamatpur union parishad presided over by Babugonj UNO Zahid Kamal.
Among others, the function was attended by deputy commissioner of Barisal Manjur-e-Elahi as the chief guest while commander of local army camp Lt Colonel Abu Syeed Mohammad Ali was present as the special guest.
Among others, Officer-in-charge of Babugonj Ali Hyder Mia, PIO Kabir Uddin Mia, chairmen Mostafa Kamal Sikder and Shamsul Alam Fakir, and RDP Kamruzzaman spoke on the occasion.
Besides, Islami Shomaj Kolyan Porishod in cooperation with Islami Bank Foundation distributed rice, potato, pulses and salt among 150 river erosion-hit families of the Upazila.
