Baby boy meets tragic death in city

An eight-month-old baby boy Sirajul Islam Friday met tragic death after drowning in the rain water that accumulated on the floor of their tin-shed room at Manda in the city.  The accident occurred around one in the afternoon, police and family sources said. At the time of the incident, the baby's father Nayon Sheikh was sleeping close to him while his mother was taking bath at their rented house at 773 Manda, the sources said. The baby was rushed to emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty physicians pronounced him dead.     — BSS
