Bad weather halts Ctg port activities

Friday, 20 June 2014

Loading and unloading of goods in Chittagong seas port have remained suspended due to inclement weather. Assistant Traffic Inspector of Chittagong Port Mahabubul Alam said the suspension came following hoisting of No. 3 signal owing to rough weather, including incessant rainfall. Fourteen ships anchored at the outer anchorage of the port could not unload goods for bad weather, he added. Besides, two ships, including a clinker-laden one, anchored at the jetty failed to do unloading activities due to rain, according to UNB.
