Badruddoza urges all politicians to come forward to help Sidr-hit people

BAGERHAT, Dec 25 (UNB): Bikolpo Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury urged all politicians today to come forward in aid of Sidr-affected people as the main objective of politics is to serve people.
He was talking to newsmen as he was returning from some of the badly affected areas.
The former President said his party had urged the government to declare the calamity as a 'national disaster'.
He called upon the government officials and employees to properly utilise the money allotted for rehabilitation of the cyclone victims in a planned way.
Prof Chowdhury also urged the government to see that corruption did not creep into the rehabilitation work that involved huge money.
He advised the people in cyclone-prone areas to store some rice, pulse and dry foods under the earth in their respective homeyards in the event of great danger signal to meet the emergency.
Bikolpo Dhara Bangladesh Secretary General Major (retd) MA Mannan was present.
