BAF observes martyrdom anniversary of Bir Uttam Bashar

Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) observed the 49th martyrdom anniversary of Bir Uttam Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Khademul Bashar, former chief of air staff; and Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque on Monday with due dignity and solemnity, an ISPR press statement says.
Air Vice Marshal Bashar, who commanded the sixth sector during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971, was martyred on September 01, 1976, in a tragic air crash along with Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque.
Doamahfil was arranged at the central mosques of all BAF bases and units and a special munajat was also offered seeking divine blessings for the salvation of departed souls and for the continued peace and prosperity of the country.
Senior BAF officers, airmen and civilians were present in those doamahfils. Besides, Bangladesh Air Force Base Bir Uttam AK Khandker organised doa and holy Quran recitation at their graveyards. Senior BAF officers, airmen and other members were present at the doamahfil.
