NAOGAON, Dec 19: The golden bagging method has brought smile on the faces of brinjal farmers in the district this season.
Sources said the modern method is gaining popularity across the area as peasants can grow insecticide-free fresh brinjals.
Officials at the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) said over 40 hectares of land have been brought under the farming of brinjal this season.
Farmers are applying the method in some two hectares of brinjal land on an experimental basis.
A good number of farmers said the method saves production cost.
It also ensures fresh produce which has a high demand across the country.
"I am cultivating brinjal on 33 decimals of land applying the bagging method," said farmer Harun-or-Rashid of Nazipur upazila.
The grower said he is hopeful of getting a good brinjal yield.
A DAE official said, "We suggest the farmers to apply the method in more cropland for a healthy produce."
