Bagha municipality mayor Akkas arrested

Police on Wednesday night arrested Rajshahi’s Bagha municipality mayor Akkas Ali on charge of making offensive comments on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam. Aminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bagha Police Station, said on information, a team of police arrested Akkas Ali from in front of the municipality office at about 7:30pm while he was making disparaging remarks about the prime minister and the state minister. However, he was released on a bond by his family members at night, according to a news agency.
