The government has identified all the deceased in Bahrain fire of February 28. The fire at a residential building in Manama, the capital of the oil-rich Gulf state, in the early hours of last Friday, killed three Bangladeshi nationals and injured two more. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately provided only two names of the deceased -- Mosharaf Hossain and ‘Jalal’. On Sunday evening it provided details of all the three. Mosharaf Hossain and Jalal hailed from Rampur union under Burichong upazila of Comilla district. Hossain is the son of Nazir Ahmed while Jalal is the son of Gafur Miah. Another identified as ‘Dulal’ is the son of Siddiqur Rahman. He was from Kacharitala, Ziapur of the same upazila. The victims ‘apparently’ died of suffocation, and there was no sign of burn or injury in the bodies. The injured took treatment and was released from the hospital, the foreign ministry had earlier said in a media release. Bahrain, because its economy does not rely on oil heavily, depends on foreign workers, most of them Asians. More than 200,000 Bangladeshis have gone to Bahrain to work since 1976. A fire in January last year had killed 10 Bangladeshis in Manama, according to bdnews24.com.
