Bail of 30 Ctg BNP men extended

A court in Chittagong on Sunday extended bail to 30 BNP men, including its chairperson’s adviser Mir Mohammad Nasiruddin, city unit president Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and secretary Dr M Shahadat Hossain, in a case. Metropolitan Magistrate Noor-e Alam Bhuiyan extended the bail until March 27 upon a petition filed by them. On November 27 last year, police filed the case against the BNP leaders and activists in connection with the violence in Kazir Deuri and Chattashowri areas of the port city during the BNP-led 18-party alliance-enforced nationwide blockade. On January 19, the High Court granted a 15-day ad interim bail to the activists. Later, the HC on January 26 granted a six-month bail to Mir Mohammad Nasiruddin, according to a news agency.
