Bail pleas of 5 BNP leaders rejected

A Dhaka court has rejected the bail pleas of five top BNP leaders, including party's Standing Committee member Moudud Ahmed, in five cases involving Hifazat-e Islam's mayhem in Dhaka last year. Other leaders whose bail pleas have been turned down are MK Anwar, Rafiqul Islam Mia, Hafizuddin Ahmed and Fazlul Haq Milon. Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zahurul Haq rejected their petitions on Thursday, according to a news agency.
