Bail to nine Jama'at men rejected

SHERPUR, Oct 21 (UNB): A court Thursday rejected bail to nine Jama'at-e-Islami activists, including elder brother of central leader Muhammad Qamaruzzaman, who were arrested from Bagraksa area of the town on October 9.
The tribunal also accepted charge-sheet submitted against them under speedy trial act by investigation officer (IO) and SI of Sadar thana Abdullah Al Mamun.
After hearing, Senior Judicial Magistrate Nurul Alam Md Dipu accepted charges against the leaders Dr Abdul Jalil (58), elder brother of Qamaruzzaman Kafiul Uddin (59), Noorun Nabi (50), Abdul Halim (42), Mokarram Hossain (35), Mostaq Faruque (33), Saidul Islam (30), Nuruzzaman Badal (40) and activist Jewel (46), rejecting their bail prayers.
