Bakolia branch of Standard Bank opens

CHITTAGONG, July 24: The 88th branch of Standard Bank Ltd was opened today at Kala Meah Bazar under Bakolia thana in the city.
Chairman of the bank and president of FBCCI Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed formally opened the branch of the bank.
Chaired by the bank's managing director Nazmus Salehin the function was also addressed by vice chairman Gulzar Ahmed as special guest, directors Mostafa Kamal Chowdhury, SAM Hossain, Md Shamsul Alam, Md Yusuf Chowdhury, Nazmul Huq Chowdhury and Kazi Khurram Ahmed.
Mr Akram said the branch has started on-line operation from day one which will facilitate customers of the bank's 87 branches to operate transactions.
 The bank is also giving quick service for remittance from different countries through several exchange houses including moneygram. The bank has also introduced internet and SMS banking services, he added.
