Ban Ki-moon to be conferred honorary degree

DU CorrespondentThe authorities of Dhaka University (DU) Wednesday decided to confer 'Doctor of Laws', an honorary degree, to Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) Ban Ki-moon through a special convocation. President M Zillur Rahman, also the university chancellor, will grace the occasion. The decision was taken at an Academic Council Committee meeting of the university headed by its Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique. It is mentionable UN Secretary General Ban-ki Moon will arrive in the city on November 13 on a three-day visit to Bangladesh. As per the schedule, he will attend the convocation that will be held at Senate Building of the university on November 15.
