\\\'Bangabandhu Bridge maintenance cost Tk 5.93b till June 2014\\\'

A total of Tk 5.93 billion (Tk 592.98 crore) has been spent for the maintenance of Bangbandhu (Jamuna) Bridge till June 2014, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader told Parliament on Tuesday. Replying to a starred question of Enamul Haque of Rajshahi-4 constituency, Quader said the amount was spent as costs of maintenance of the bridge. In reply to another starred question of Jatiya Party MP Shahnara Begum (Women Seat-48), he said that now BRTC operates 15 women buses on 13 routes to facilitate communication of women especially professional women in the capital. The number of women buses will increase immediately after new buses are added to the fleet of state-run Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), the minister added, according to a news agency.
