Bangabandhu proclaimed independence: Raushan

MYMENSINGH, Dec 12, (BSS): Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Begum Raushan Ershad, MP, said the true history is that the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had proclaimed the independence.
She said no debate can arise out of the proclamation of independence. Responding to the historic call of Bangabandhu, the freedom fighters had joined the Liberation War and liberated the country after nine months of war.
Addressing a discussion meeting at Chotabazar Mukto Manch marking the Mymensingh Free DayThursday evening, Begum Raushan Ershad said freedom fighters had joined Liberation War at the call of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Organised by District Muktijoddha Sangsad, the meeting was chaired by valiant freedom fighter Sainuddin.
It was addressed, among others, by Fakrul Imam, MP, Rawshanara Mannan, MP, Deputy Commissioner Mostakim Billah Faroqui, former Sadar Upazila chairman Faizur Rahman Fakir, Advocate Khalequzzaman, freedom fighter Alauddin, JP leader Jahangir Alam Sarkar and AL leader Yusuf Khan Patan.
