Post and Telecommunication Minister Mostafa Jabbar on Thursday said the motive of killing Bangabandhu along with his family was to destroy the state of Bangladesh by thwarting its progress, reports BSS.
"The motive of killing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family was to kill Bangladesh as the progress of war-ravaged Bangladesh which was made by Bangabandhu during his three-year and seven-month tenure after independence was a rare example in the world," he said.
The minister made this comment while addressing a memorial meeting on digital platform organized by Greater Mymensingh Forum in Dhaka National Mourning Day and marking the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday night.
"Bangabandhu was the only leader who had paved the way to take forward this back-footed nation," he said, adding: "There is no sectors, including communication, agriculture, health and education, where Bangabandhu had not started progress."
The regime of Bangabandhu from 1972 to 1975 was very much eventful, he told the function.
Bangabandhu launched the third industrial revolution during his regime, Jabbar said, adding that similarly, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the country to a position for leading it towards fourth industrial revolution following the path of Bangabandhu.
