Bangabandhu\\\'s 95th birthday observed

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Mar 18: The 95th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated at Jahangirnagar University (JU) Tuesday in a befitting manner.
In observance of the day, the JU authorities took various programmes including children's art competition, placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, discussion session, cutting cake and Milad Mahfil. Under the banner of 'JU Awami Family' a colorful rally was brought out from central Shaheed Minar premises led by JU VC Professor Dr. Farzana Islam at about 10.00am.
Pro-Awami League teachers, students and staffs of the university took part at a procession that paraded main streets of the campus. The rally ended in front of Banganadhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman hall following placing floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu. Later, a discussion session entitled 'Bangladesh, Bangla Bhasha and Bangabandhu' was held at seminar room of Jahir Raihan auditorium on the campus at about 11.00am.
Speakers said Bangabandhu is our ideal model. He dreamt and tried to make a golden Bangladesh. We should follow his ideology to build a golden Bangladesh.
Professor Dr. Shariff Enamul Kabir, a Member of Public Service Commission addressed the discussion session as the chief guest while JU VC Professor Farzana Islam addressed the function as the special guest.
Directed by Prof. Amir Hossain, dean of Social Science faculty, Prof. Khurshida Bagume presented key notes on the topic as the chief speaker while Prof. Abul Hossain presided over the programme focused on the ideology of Bangabandhu.
